Wedding Approval Conditions

Classic Application Support

  • A future husband and wife both have to be of legal age to marry.
  • Approval of the bride.
  • Bachelorhood certificate for both of the spouses was attested by the embassy.
  • In Dubai, at least one party to the marriage contract (husband, wife or wife’s guardian) should have a residence visa in the UAE. In other emirates, both the bride and groom must be UAE residents.
  • A positive pre-marital screening certificate for the couple was issued from the concerned public healthcare facilities in the UAE.

Muslim Wedding

  • A premarital screening certificate and her guardian's consent are needed.
  • Divorced and widowed women must produce proof of their status.
  • A marital screening test must be done through one of the medical centers.
  • Attendance of the bride's father or his proxy and two male Muslim witnesses is required.
  • For a woman to get married, she needs the consent of her guardian.
  • For spouses who recently converted to Islam, a declaration of Islam of one year, or certificate from IACAD.

Non-Muslim Wedding

  • One of the spouses must have a Dubai-issued residence, a Dubai-issued visa, or the husband or wife; at least one of them has a Dubai tenancy contract.
  • Bachelorhood certificate for both of the spouses was attested from the embassy and translated to Arabic, in addition to the Ministry of Justice stamp in case the certificates were in another language.
  • There is no need for a guardian for the wife, for two witnesses or for a medical examination.

Express Wedding:

  • Both parties must be non-Muslims.
  • At least one of the parties must be a resident of Dubai.
  • The age of the couple must be at least 21 years old.
  • The couple or their legally authorized representatives must appear in person.
  • Original IDs are required to prove their identity details.
  • Proof of being single must be provided.
